Pwllheli Library Re-opens Following Major Neuadd Dwyfor Refurbishment
April 4, 2022Pwllheli Library has recently re-opened following a significant investment of over £900,000 to upgrade the library, as well as theatre and cinema facilities in the Neuadd Dwyfor building in the town.
As part of the refurbishment, modern furniture and shelving have been installed including an attractive children’s area that will host regular story and rhyme sessions for babies and toddlers.
Opening hours have been extended, with users being able to access library books and computers by self-service, and a coffee bar will be operational during the afternoon once the cinema schedule is in place.
Library users can also benefit from accessible toilet facilities on the ground floor, as well as the reception area which has been designed as a space for relaxation and to socialise. The library can be hired in the evening should a group or association want to hire the space for meetings, and because the shelves are on wheels it is possible to easily make room for groups.
Nia Gruffydd, Gwynedd Library Service Manager, said: “This is a new and exciting time for Pwllheli Library.
“We are extremely grateful for this significant investment which ensures that we will be able to offer our users a quality service and facilities as well as developing a new program of activities for children and families, as well as adults, based around books and reading.
“We also look forward to working with the Theatre / Cinema at Neuadd Dwyfor on joint projects that will maximize the quality space available here and ensure that Neuadd Dwyfor is a vibrant hub for cultural life in the Llŷn area.”
Users can also order books for collection at the Library in Pwllheli. You will need your library card number and PIN.
