Byw Llyfrau is a brand new Welsh-language podcast, and an exciting partnership between librarians from Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire and Ceredigion. It is the result of the Libraries Wales Estyn Allan project. In the podcasts, the Estyn Allan team talk to different Welsh writers about their books and reading interests. Estyn Allan is a collaboration between Welsh public libraries to create digital content, led by the Society of Chief Librarians Wales (SCL Cymru) and funded by the Welsh Government. The first Byw Llyfrau podcast features author Rebecca Roberts.
Rebecca lives in Prestatyn, and has worked as a teacher, development officer and translator. Her first adult novel Mudferwi was published by Gwasg Carreg Gwalch in 2019 and was followed in early 2020 by an English novel, Eat. Sleep. Rage. Repeat. (Gomer Press). #helynt, her first novel for young people won the Tir na n-Og Award 2021 for children’s and young people’s literature – Secondary age category, and Wales Book of the Year 2021 – Children & Young People Award, announced by Literature Wales.
